LONG BRANCH, N.J. With heavy earthmoving machines roaring busily behind them, Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider and Senator Joe Palaia led a host of state and local dignitaries recently during groundbreaking ceremonies for Beachfront North, a new residential community rising along the redeveloping oceanfront in Long Branch, N.J.
The officials joined principals of The Matzel and Mumford Organization and Applied Development Company, the joint venture developing Beachfront North, in celebrating the construction commencement of the new community of 283 townhomes and condominiums.
Speaking before more than 100 people assembled at the event, Mayor Schneider reflected on Long Branch's storied history and on its exciting future.
"In the 1800s, Long Branch would hold tremendous tent shows and revivals," explained the Mayor. "Today, we're here under this tent to celebrate a revival of our city.
"The work we've been doing for ten years now has been difficult and time consuming. But because the City Council was able to work without the political infighting Long Branch used to be known for, we're getting things done. I'm now looking forward to early next year when the first resident moves into this exciting new community."
Development principals praised the city for its cooperation and its commitment to revitalizing the area.
"Long Branch officials have been extremely supportive throughout the process and continue to show confidence in our ability to do a wonderful job here," noted Roger Mumford, President of Matzel and Mumford.
Applied President David Barry agreed, adding that the city has been a professional organization to work with, primarily because it puts common sense and getting things done ahead of politics.
Rising on a 15-acre site that was designated in need of redevelopment by the city, the new community will feature two distinct product types in a resort-like setting. The Bluffs at Beachfront North will offer 104 Seashore-styled townhomes, while The Grand Resorts at Beachfront North will feature 179 condominium residences.
An onsite Information Trailer is currently open. Sales for the townhomes are scheduled to open in mid-summer at prices ranging from the $400,000's to over $1 Million. Preview sales for the condominium residences will open in September at prices ranging from the $300,000s to over $500,000.
In addition, ground will be broken this summer for The Ocean Club, the community's private two-story lifestyle and recreation center that will feature a fitness center, lounge area, clubroom and outdoor swimming pool and hot tub.
The Bluffs at Beachfront North will feature six distinctive townhome designs offering two-to-four bedrooms, up to 3-1/2 baths, one- or two-car garages and from 1,853 to over 3,300 square feet of living space. Well-planned three-story floorplans boast formal living rooms, well-designed kitchens, a luxurious master-bedroom suite with an oversized bath and a number of upscale features and appointments.
The Grand Resorts at Beachfront North will offer spacious, single-level condominium residences in three elevator access buildings. Seven distinctive designs feature one-to-three bedrooms, up to two baths and from 1,075 to nearly 2100 square feet of living space. Floorplans include formal living rooms, open kitchens and a luxurious master bedroom with an oversized bath. One indoor parking space with elevator access comes with each home, as does a private balcony.
